Mission
The Driver will load, deliver and set up motor homes, trailers and/or boats for use by customers at various
locations usually within a 200-mile radius. May operate company vehicles to deliver supplies and equipment to
designated stores.
Schedule: Monday-Saturday, 20-30 hours/week. *Must be flexible*
Pay: $19 - $21/hour
Outcomes
Successful candidates will:
- Pick up and deliver trailers and/or boats to and from requested locations, including moving units between store locations; hook and unhook trailers according to Company and DOT procedures, as applicable
- Complete all set up of boats and trailers at destination, to include blocking and securing units, according to customer agreements
- Load all supplies needed for setting up units
- Pick up and deliver boats to/from customer’s homes, to/from marinas and docks, and other locations
- Utilize navigation, and route-optimization tools to maximize efficiency
- Maintain organization of units on store lots
- Maintain general knowledge of units and equipment and courteously respond to customer questions
- Provide professional and friendly customer service when interacting with clients at their homes or businesses.
- Perform and record pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fueling, general cleaning, adding fluids, and minor repairs as needed; remain alert to maintenance schedules and inspection stickers
- Perform light routine maintenance on Company vehicles as directed; and maintain internal and external vehicle cleanliness
- Maintain safety protocols and observe all traffic rules while performing job duties
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Driver’s license, clear of major infractions, and subject to approval from the insurance company
- Class B CDL/Class A CDL with Air Brake endorsement preferred, but not required
- Experience towing/delivering boats and personal water craft
- Knowledge of basic hand and power tools
- Deep understanding of hitching, backing, and maneuvering a wide variety of boat trailers in tight spaces, launch ramps, and marinas
- Strong understanding of marine craft operation, and basic troubleshooting (batteries, spark plugs, etc)
- Proficient in securing heavy loads, tying down loose items
- Awareness and basic knowledge lake/river conditions. (ie– Water levels, wind conditions, hazards, utilities, etc.)
- Ability to drive up to 3 hours at a time, which may include Poughkeepsie (S), Plattsburgh (N), and the Finger Lake Region (W).
- Flexibility to work Saturdays (peak, as needed)

- Ability to interpret verbal and written guidelines to perform job functions
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
- Talking and hearing, walking and sitting, using hands to grasp, pushing, pulling, climbing, crouching, kneeling, and reaching with arms/hands, are required.
- Physical strength and endurance with ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently to move objects.
- Exposure to outside adverse environmental conditions, such as fumes, dust, oils and lubricating fluids, mechanical moving parts, moving vehicles, fluctuating weather conditions, and occasional hazardous chemicals or materials.
